The Best Family Festival in Yorkshire?
Our popular North Yorkshire family festival held in fields near Knaresborough is returning and set to almost double in number after a roaring success last season.
We’ve been running this glamping festival ourselves since 2017 when we heard lots of glawning customers say it would be nice to get together with other glawning owners for a campout. We took action and Glampfest was born!
From humble beginnings of around 100 people and us making the sandwiches/running the bar/first aiding ourselves it has grown exponentially to 1500 in 2023 bringing family campers a whole range of fun activities, live music from local talent, kids activities, abundant street food and hand-crafted produce to enjoy. We hand pick our traders so nothing gets past us if we've not tasted their food and experienced their quality and expertise first. We have quality leather craft, hair braiding, artisan gin, hand dyed apparel, boho chic boutique, driftwood art, handmade jewellery to name but a few.
This Yorkshire-based festival, ‘Glampfest’, was inaugurated by us as camping enthusiasts to bring lots of customers with their pretty Glawnings together for a big glamping party in a field. And it has never disappointed! The annual Dad Dancing Competition, Best Dressed Pitch Competition and headlining DJ Rory Hoy are staples in the Glampfest agenda and although we had to ditch the Sprinting Sweetie Man for health and safety reasons, these others remain as unique offerings you won’t find at any other festival. You also won’t find rows and rows of luxurious driveaway bell tent awnings at just any festival. This stunning, innovative awning really stands out at festivals and campsites across the UK - and none more so than Glampfest which sees the largest turn out of Glawnings adorning the fields, making a glamorous spectacle to behold.
Glampfest 2024, held in fields on Market Flat Lane near Scotton, promises to be the biggest and best yet as we continue to join forces with the Mighty Events team to expand the festival and launch new areas for attendees to enjoy. Glampfest 2024 will have a dedicated Sports Zone, Zen Zone, Acoustic Lounge, Photo Booth, a cookery demo from Great British Bake Off Contestant Karen Wright and more, in addition to the well-loved elements of last years offering which saw a delicious variety of food and drink vendors, forest school, storytelling, yoga, massage, crafts, face painting, PE sessions, archery, drum workshops, stalls of hand-crafted products, and lots of stunning camping setups to ogle.
A festival for the whole family to enjoy with a wide range of activities, live music from local performers, street food and glamping set ups. Fundraising is undertaken for a different chosen charity each year. This year we will be raising money to help fund prosthetics for a boy called Luke who lost his arms and legs to meningitis at the age of 7.
Day or weekend camping tickets are available, and everyone is welcome. You don’t need to own a Glawning to attend but you might want one by the end of the weekend when you see what they can do! Full Glawning stand and shop on site for perusal.
Glampfest will be held on the 10-12 May 2024 in fields on Market Flat Lane, Knaresborough.
